Remembrance Service
Despite the rain, members of the Parish Council, church and Scouts, Brownies, Cubs and Beavers from Breadsall and Oakwood met to remember lives lost during the 2 world wars. The church was full and, following a service, met around the memorial to hear the names of the fallen and pause for 2 minutes.
Further information about those who are commemorated is being added to the site - please follow the History section. It may be a couiple of days before all the information is uploaded, so please be patient and check back.
Thanks to Stuart Brown of Littleover, we now have a link to a Roll of Honour site. This gives much more information on those commemorated on our War Memorial. Please follow the links section to find this site.

During the Good Friday service, we took the unusual step of transforming the Christmas Tree into an Easter Cross, symbolising the wholeness of the Christmas and Easter stories as together displaying God's purpose for Christ on earth.
The tree was adorned with a crown and the letter INRI - Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews Presents of the peoples' prayers were brought to the foot of the cross. Ribbons representing Christ's blood outpoured were added to 'decorate' the tree.
In this photo, Amber is adding her ribbon. The tree was kindly donated by her parents last Christmas
